Bohemian Classics

What does the the term ‘Bohemian Classics’ inspire in your imagination? For me it’s plenty of sunshine, spring days, and lots of simple layered accessories. Fortunately for me despite the fact it’s still winter I am feeling the inevitable arrival of Spring. The days are getting longer, the sky seems somewhat brighter (be it in it’s lovely shade of grey) and temperature has risen enough for the flowers to start making an appearance. I’m so looking forward to seeing the daffodils bloom over the coming weeks. Don’t forget Spring officially starts on March 20th, We are days away.

My last blog touched on my Spring cleaning (Shop Edit), now the shop is re-vamped, the categories are set all that’s left is to gradually fill them up! So this Saturday night I had a great time with my Semi Precious stones, Swarovski Crystal and Sterling Silver wire and got to building my Bohemian layering classics. If you have visited the main shop you will see the focus is heavily on Gemstone items. I very much see these as Bohemian Classics, anything with a crystal derived of the earth’s core to me screams bohemian, it’s natural, solid and representative of energies and moods.

I made 5 new additions for the shop. Using my Sterling Silver wire I threaded onto it 3mm Swarovski Bicones, 4mm Gemstones and wrapped them into links, finishing each one off with a handmade hook and loop closure. (I particularly like this as it makes it easy to get on and off again.)

I currently have in stock some stunning Gemstones;

~Lapis Lazuli, lace in appearance and great for adding to a nautical fashion theme, but also very classic it’s look, this stone can be worn with just about anything.

~Chrysocolla, stunning sea green stone, remind me of fantasy lands featuring mermaids and unicorns, very bohemian in theme.

~Rhodonite, gorgeous shades of pink which darken up the spectrum to give deep murky brownish tint to it with some stones. They have a very earthy quality.

~ Red Jasper, reminds me of something volcanic and alive with fire. A very solid red shade.

~ Carnelian, Smooth solid translucent shade of orange, bright yet deep in tone and colour.

I am looking forward to making more of these, I still have plenty of varieties of stones in stock and there is never a shortage of choice from my UK suppliers of semi precious stones. If you have a particular favourite stone you would like me to use please leave a comment below and I may just add it for you. Don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming up anything from my Gemstone collection would add another ray of sunshine into her fashionable ensemble but all the more special as it’s one of a kind and purchased with love from you.

Thank you for taking your time to read my blog, I hope it made you smile and forget yourself if only for a  moment. Feel welcome to keep this blog bookmarked and keep up with my future posts.
